The Triquetra shape, also known as the trinity knot, is a three pointed symbol which are interlaced arcs or vesica piscis shapes.

Triquetra means three-cornered and connects deeply with the power of three. This formation has many different beliefs behind it, varying from the religions and cultures, but the concept of the connectedness and infinite loop seem to be in all of these beliefs. 

The rough interpretation of this symbol is that it represents interconnectedness, eternity and the power of three. Often symbolising unity, balance and the cycle of life.

In the Pagan perspective this shape represents the maiden, the mother and the crone.
In Christian perspective it represents the father, the son and the Holy Spirit.

Where the origin of this symbol is unknown the formation dates back before the Celtic times. Norse runes and daily items  have been found engraved with the symbol proving groups such as the Norse Vikings have used this symbol.
